Tyler was born and raised in the Bay Area and spent much of his early life climbing oak trees and exploring local creeks, hillsides and ravines. Post-college, a deeper appreciation for the environment took hold while working for several years as a tour leader for an adventure travel outfitter, guiding multi-week camping excursions across the continental U.S., Canada and Alaska.
After settling in San Francisco in 1999, he worked as an assistant producer for Music Orange, a leading commercial music house and went on to manage marketing and custom events for Mix, Remix and Guitar Player magazines, among others.
He then worked with the FOR-SITE Foundation on the internationally-recognized, site-specific art exhibitions, @Large: Ai Weiwei on Alcatraz and Home Land Security, conducting principal historical research, managing content and overseeing on-site operations and interpretive staff.
Tyler joined Climate One in 2017 and directs our live events program and manages general operations. He has a degree in history from Loyola Marymount University and also enjoys his ongoing and less formal education from hiking, music, basketball, stand-up comedy, food, wine, travel and quality time spent with friends and family.
