Facebook Unfriending Coal
Description
In 2009, Greenpeace started looking at how to get companies off coal, and found that the IT sector had a large carbon footprint. "We challenged our supporters and challenged Facebook users to ask Facebook to unfriend coal," said Gary Cook, Senior Policy Analyst at Greenpeace International. "They’re the first one to commit to be 100% renewable powered. And so they sort of set up a bar for others to follow."
