Flying: Big Carbon Deal or Not?

With summer just around the corner, many people will be flying somewhere else. But what does that mean for your carbon footprint? David Friedman, Deputy Director of the Union of Concerned Scientists, points out that on average American car emissions are "10 times your airline emissions." If you fly a lot, Friedman suggests staying out of first class and "you'll have a lower carbon footprint."
