The Truth about Bioplastics

"There's a lot of different types of ways to make bioplastics from different sorts of plants," said Molly Morse of bioplastics start-up Mango Materials.  The different types of bioplastics are essentially different materials, so they all break down differently.  "Bioplastics as a whole can give people, consumers, a false sense of responsibility, and I think that's very important," said Adam Lowry of Method Home.  People believe that bioplastics can be thrown in the trash and they will biodegrade in the landfill, which is not the case.
