Carol Van Strum is a writer, editor, farmer, parent, and self-described chronic thorn in the side of those who endanger the health and safety of people and the environment. A recipient of the David Brower Lifetime Achievement Award, her work was instrumental in the passage of the first voter-approved ban of aerial pesticide spraying in the nation. Publications include A Bitter Fog: Herbicides and Human Rights, and No Margin of Safety.
