Fareed Mahameed is a transboundary, environmental, sustainability, cultural & social entrepreneur, environmental public health specialist (MPH), biomedical engineer (BSc) and educator & alum of the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies (AIES). Mahameed's expertise is working on capacity building and climate resilience with marginalized communities in Israel, Jordan, and Palestine. He worked mainly with the Bedouin community in the Negev and Palestinian farmers in the Jordan Valley on environmental innovation. He currently runs the off-grid hub at Al-Foraa village to provide off-grid integrated and holistic solutions to the community there. He is assistant director at the Center for Transboundary Water Management at the Arava Institute and founded Al-Thaqafat Center for Shared Culture in the Negev at the Hagar Association.
