Gal Luft

Co-director, Institute for the Analysis of Global Security

I believe the old paradigm has collapsed. [That is], ‘If we only drill more oil, we will pay less at the pump.’ We’ve done that. It didn’t work.

Gal Luft sees that the old oil paradigm has collapsed. As the Executive Director of the Institute for Analysis of Global Security, Luft specializes in geopolitics, energy security, and economic warfare. Throughout his career as an expert in energy security, he has consulted for a variety of think tanks and organizations, and has testified before the U.S. Congress. Drawing from this experience he wrote the book Petropoly: The Collapse of America's Energy Security Paradigm.

Luft is a founding member of the Institute for Renewable Energy Policy, the International Lithium Alliance, and Citizens for Energy Freedom. He holds a doctorate in strategic studies from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University.
