Jon Koomey

Research Fellow, Steyer-Taylor Center for Energy Policy and Finance, Stanford

Jon Koomey understands that institutional innovation is a vital partner to technological innovation. After earning a Ph.D. from the Energy and Resources Group at UC Berkeley, he continued working at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory for a total of 20 years. As a Research Fellow at the Steyer-Taylor Center for Energy Policy and Finance at Stanford, his research is focused on finding the means to unleash the power of data, technology, and innovation to help with today’s pressing energy goals.

Koomey is the author of Turning Numbers into Knowledge: Mastering the Art of Problem Solving and eight other books. He is currently a Consulting Professor at Stanford University.
