Professor of History of Science and Director of Graduate Studies, Harvard University
This is about an organized campaign to undermine the work that we do and to make people think that the science is unsettled... Stealing emails isn’t something that happens by accident.
Naomi Oreskes understands the potency of persuasive communication even if it counters the facts. As a Professor of the History of Science and Director of Graduate Studies at Harvard University, Oreskes' research focuses on the earth and environmental sciences, with a particular interest in understanding scientific consensus and dissent. At Harvard she draws on her 15 years of experience as Professor of History and Science Studies at the University of California, San Diego, and Adjunct Professor of Geosciences at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
She co-authored Merchants of Doubt, How a Handful of Scientists Obscured the Truth on Issues from Tobacco to Global Warming.
