Sissel Waage

Director of Biodiversity & Ecosystem Services, Business for Social Responsibility

Sissel Waage has seen more companies becoming interested in offsetting pollution. As the Director of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services for Business for Social Responsibility, Waage works with businesses to create a just and sustainable world. She brings with her over 20 years of experience working on sustainability issues. This experience includes working as a Director for Forest Trends, launching the R&D Program at The Natural Step, and advising Fortune 100 companies on integration of sustainability into strategy. 

Waage has a Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Policy and Management from the University of California, Berkeley; an M.S. in Forestry from the University of California, Berkeley; and a B.A. in Political Science from Amherst College.
