William Vollmann

Author, No Good Alternative: Volume 2 of Carbon Ideologies

William Vollmann is a novelist and journalist. He most recently wrote No Good Alternative, the second of a two-volume work on carbon ideologies. Vollmann’s book explores the consequences of fossil fuel production in the face of climate change. In 2005, Vollmann won the National Book Award for Fiction. As a journalist and fiction writer, he has also contributed to The New York Times Book Review, Harper’s, Esquire and more. Vollmann is a California native and completed his degree in comparative literature at Cornell University.
