Auto enthusiast Charlie Vogelheim has spent 30 years building an expertise in the industry. The host of radio programs "The Flying Car Show" and "Motor Trend Audio", Vogelheim has studied industry transformations in technology, attitudinal shifts in start-ups and the influence of a changing environment on transportation. 

As the principal at Vogelheim Ventures, Vogelheim has been involved in a variety of initiatives including Motor Trend Audio, TPC Management, and DrivingSales. He served as vice president at J.D. Power and executive editor at Kelly's Blue Book, and was an original contributor to the development and implementation of automotive sites on Microsoft, AOL, Yahoo, Google and e-Bay. He served as the Chairman of the Automotive Internet Standards Committee for the development of all major automotive Internet Sites.

Though he appreciates classic cars he is deeply engaged in the future of mobility as Silicon Valley reinvents the wheel. He earned his seaplane rating in Sausalito, spent several years as an Alaskan bush pilot and is anxiously awaiting the flying car.

Can we beat the traffic by taking to the skies?

For more than a century, the automobile has ruled our city streets, chaining us to grid-shaped streets choked with lines of traffic. And for many of us, seemingly endless hours of daily commuting.

“But what if we can remove those chains?” asks JoeBen Bevirt of Joby Aviation. “What do our lives, what do our cities, how does the world look 20 years from now or 50 years from now? That's what gets me up everyday. So my mission is to save a billion people an hour a day in their daily commutes.”
